Glen Iris October Construction Update

Glen Iris October Construction Update

As of October, significant progress has been made at the Cornus Glen Iris construction site. Here are the key updates for the past month and what's to come in November:

October Progress:

  • Site Preparation: Site preparation for the crane has been completed. This involves creating the necessary infrastructure to support the crane's installation and operation.
  • Upper Basement Shotcrete Walls: The upper basement shotcrete walls have been successfully completed.
  • Lower Basement Shotcrete Walls: Similar to the upper basement, the lower basement shotcrete walls have been completed. This marks a significant step in the construction process, providing structural stability to the building's lower levels.
  • Excavation in Basement: The final stages of excavation in the basement are in progress. This excavation is essential for creating the building's foundation and space for utilities.

November Plans:

  • Crane Installation: The crane installation is scheduled to take place in early November. The crane is a crucial piece of equipment for lifting and placing heavy construction materials, its installation will greatly facilitate the ongoing construction activities.
  • Shotcrete to Retention Walls: On Thursday, November 2nd, the last round of shotcrete will be applied to the retention walls of the basement. This step is crucial for ensuring the structural integrity of the foundation.
  • Foundation Work: The crane base has been poured and pad footings and lift core footings are underway.
  • In-Ground Plumbing: In mid November, it is expected that the construction team is planning to start the in-ground plumbing works, which will include installing stormwater tanks and perimeter drains.
  • Basement Slab: Following the plumbing works, the focus will shift to laying the basement slab. This is a significant step in building the structure's floors and will bring us closer to the construction of above-ground levels.

These updates reflect the progress made in October and the planned activities for November at the Cornus Glen Iris construction site. As always, the project team is committed to ensuring a safe and efficient construction process to bring this development to completion.
