Cornus Oakleigh May Update

Written by Cornus Blog | 03/06/2024 5:58:10 AM

As we move closer to the completion of our Cornus Oakleigh project, we are thrilled to share the latest construction updates for May. Our team has been working diligently and we are on track to meet our target completion date later this year.

Over the past few weeks, significant progress has been made. The window installation is now complete, whilst the services rough-in has been finished, laying the groundwork for the next stages of development. We've also commenced the installation of the rubbish chute and the lift, both of which are ongoing and progressing smoothly. The external material installation has been completed, so now we can focus on painting and finalising the exterior.

Internally, we have fully completed the plastering and the painting on level 3. The joinery and stone benchtops have been installed on the ground floor, with the joinery complete all the way up to level 3, giving a glimpse of the high-quality finishes that will define the Cornus Oakleigh apartments. The fit-off for appliances and sanitary ware is complete up to level 2, and internal tiling has been finalised from the ground floor to level 3. Additionally, the balcony external tiling on levels 1 and 2 has been completed, adding to the aesthetic appeal and functionality of these outdoor spaces.

On the ground floor, the timber flooring and carpet installation are finished, shower screens have been installed and the internal robe fit-outs are complete from the ground floor to level 2. The balcony balustrade posts are in place, with glazing to the posts now underway. To top it all off, solar panels and hot water units have been installed on the rooftop, ensuring energy efficiency for the building.

Looking ahead, our focus will shift to several critical tasks to bring the project to fruition. Starting with the ongoing works of the apartment's external waterproofing in conjunction with progressively dropping the scaffolding floor by floor. The installation of the timber flooring and carpets in the apartments continues, as does the internal and external waterproofing, tiling, painting and joinery work. The appliance and sanitary ware fit-offs will be an ongoing effort to ensure all units are fully equipped.

By the end of June, we aim to complete the installation of the main carpark entry, enhancing accessibility and convenience for future residents. Additionally, the communal area planters will be built, contributing to the greenery and communal atmosphere of the development.

We are excited to see the Cornus Oakleigh project taking shape and look forward to providing more updates as we move closer to completion.
